General information

Course recognition

The Society’s Education Department operates a transparent, rigorous and comprehensive course recognition process with the support of independent reviewers and panel members. Working with courses preparing students to become independent primary practitioners of homeopathy, we believe that quality assurance is a crucial way for a profession to demonstrate its capacity for effective self regulation and to increase its public accountability. We favour a supportive and developmental approach, valuing ongoing consultation with course providers, teachers and students, as well as homeopaths and the public.

The courses currently on our list substantially meet the criteria of the Society’s course recognition system. This includes scrutiny and evaluation through documentation and observation of teaching in the classroom, the clinic and online. We also engage in discussion with the course team and students, and look for evidence of external examiner reports and students’ assessed work.

Homeopaths qualifying from Society recognised courses will be knowledgeable, competent, reflective and safe, and are automatically eligible to join the Society’s Register of Homeopaths, the first to become accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
